Anime ReWind Review: Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Jyanain Dakara Ne!!

兄ちゃんのことなんかぜんぜん
好きじゃないんだからね!!

Synopsis: Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Jyanain Dakara Ne!! is your typical brother-sister complex anime series. Nao Takanashi’s brother complex is super strong and is determined to make her brother Shusuke fall for her, even if it means incest. One day, she pretends to clean his room as an excuse to find out where all of his porno magazines are.

As she stacks all of his magazines (ready to throw away), she finds a childhood photo album of her brother. Nao immediately notices that there are no pictures of her in any of the family photos. As it turns out, she was adopted which means she’s not blood related to her family at all! Nao asks her parents not to tell her brother that she found out about that because secretly, she wants Shusuke to see her as a woman and not his sister.

My Thoughts:
Very entertaining first episode! There’s Lots of fan-service and ecchi which I usually stay away from but this one is highly amusing.
Episode 7 was just plain awesome though! The popular 90's song, What is Love was played as the opening and Bad Romance by Lady Gaga was played in this episode as well! Not to mention they all go to Akihabara and a few posters on the streets were shown from shows such as Kodomo no Jikan and KissxSis! This was probably the best episode of the entire series imo.

Personally, I do enjoy these types of romance series which was why I decided to give it a try. I watched this series weekly as it aired in Japan back 2011 and every episode was great and super funny. I love how motivated and energetic the main character is and I think that’s what got me to really like this show a lot! This series is only 12 episodes so it's not too long. I definitely would not recommend this series to anyone below the age of 17 due to the pervertedness of the series. If you're 18 and above and enjoy pervy/echhi style humor, you'll definitely get a kick out of this series. Also imo, brother-sister complex themes are most definitely not intended for individuals who are 17 and under. I was 23 when I watched this so that wasn't an issue for me.

I haven't seen this anime series since I watched it as it aired but I definitely still think about this anime and I have considered rewatching it to see if it still holds up in 2025. I have great memories with this anime. Would definitely watch it again!
