90's Cartoons Available On DVD Part 1/5

With 90's cartoons becoming popular again and 90's kids being all grown up feeling nostalgic, I decided to write a blog post about every 90's cartoon tv series that are currently available to purchase on DVD. I've decided to make this into a 5 part series because there's actually quite a large number of cartoons available to buy. Anyway, I hope this will help you bring back a little piece of your childhood and help you build your DVD library. Now let's begin!

I'll start off with listing all of the Nickelodeon cartoon TV series. I'll make sure to mention if these shows have all of their episodes and if their openings and endings are included or not. If you want to buy any of these shows yourself, just click the link above each image.

Aaahh!!! Real Monsters (1994-1997)

Aaahh!!! Real Monsters: The Complete Series

Aaahh!!! Real Monsters aired a total of 4 seasons with 52 episodes. Shout Factory released the complete series back in 2013. Openings and endings are included and episodes are in air date order.

Angry Beavers (1994-2001)

The Angry Beavers aired in 1994 with the pilot episode, Born to Be Beavers. The entire series (4 seasons, 63 episodes) was released on DVD back in 2013 by Shout Factory and still available to buy on amazon.

CatDog (1998-2005)

Catdog: The Complete Series

CatDog has a total of 4 seasons and 68 episodes. Shout Factory released the entire series on DVD in one complete set with the openings and endings included in each episode. Episodes are in air date order.

Doug (1991-1994)

Doug: The Complete Nickelodeon Series

Nickelodeon aired a total of 4 seasons with 52 episodes which the DVD contains all of those episodes. The DVD also includes the openings and endings in every episode. Episodes are in air date order.

Hey Arnold! (1996-2004)

Hey Arnold! The Complete Series

Hey Arnold had a total of 5 seasons and 100 episodes. Luckily, Shout Factory released the entire series on DVD in one complete set. Episodes are in air date order. The movie from 2002 is still available to buy and recently, back in 2017, Nickelodeon created a new Hey Arnold (Hey Arnold Jungle Movie) movie where it answers a lot of questions about the whereabouts of Arnold's parents.

The Ren and Stimpy Show (1991-1995)

Ren & Stimpy: The Almost Complete Collection
The Ren and Stimpy Show aired a total of 52 episodes and 5 seasons. It was released on DVD by Paramount. Unfortunately, this set is the "almost" complete series. Some episodes were not included in the complete collection and some episodes had scenes cut. You can view the entire list here. Episode order can be found here

Rocket Power (1999-2004)

Rocket Power: The Complete First Season Rocket Power: The Complete Second Season Rocket Power: The Complete Third Season Rocket Power: The Complete Fourth Season

Rocket Power was released on DVD in 4 complete season sets. These are DVD-R Sets released by amazon and Nickelodeon. Rocket Power aired a total of 71 episodes and they are all here in these sets including the movie. The openings and endings are included as well.

Rocko's Modern Life (1992-1996)

Rocko's Modern Life: The Complete Series

In 2013, Shout Factory released the complete series of Rocko's Modern Life on DVD. Originally, they were released in 4 season sets. According to the reviews on amazon, only 3 episodes were edited. The Good, The Bad, and The Wallaby: The scene where Heffer gets milked by a machine and faints in "delight". "Hut Sit Raw": The scene where Rocko picks berries off a bush and accidentally checks out at a "hot" motel. The clerk thinks that they're "doing it" until morning. Fortunately, only these three scenes were cut out. This is by far the most complete set we will probably get to own and it's honestly better than not being able to own it at all.

In 2018, Nickelodeon announced that they are releasing a special of this series called Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling.

Rugrats (1991-2004)

Rugrats: Season One Rugrats: Season Two

Rugrats aired a total of 172 episodes in 9 seasons. The series was originally released on DVD-R by amazon. I believe the openings were cut out of these sets. However, Nickelodeon officially released the series 2017. As of August 2018, they currently have 4 seasons released out of 9. From what I have heard, some episodes got switched. You can read the amazon reviews for more information.

Spongebob SquarePants (1999-present)

SpongeBob SquarePants First 100 Episodes

The first 100 episodes of Spongebob first became available in 2009 released by Nickelodeon. This is the set that I own, and unfortunately, the openings and endings are not included in each episode. The openings are cut out after the first episode is played on each disc. However, the ending is still left in tact. In 2017, Nickelodeon re-released this set in a slimmer case. Though I still don't know if they fixed the issue of the openings not being included (if anyone can confirm this, please leave a comment below). Also, some episodes had scenes cut out. You can see the complete list of deleted scenes here. However, the Help Wanted episode is included in the set.

The Wild Thornberrys (1998-2004)

The Wild Thornberrys aired 91 episodes and a total of 5 seasons. All 91 episodes are available to watch in this complete series set released by Shout Factory. Openings and endings are included in every episode and episodes are in air date order.

Nickelodeon Cartoons that still need a complete series DVD release:

KaBlam! (1996-2000): Unforunately, KaBlam! has yet to see a DVD release at all. So far, the only way to watch this show is by downloading an incomplete torrent with horrible quality or you can just watch it on YouTube. To this day, I wish Shout Factory would license the show and give this series a complete DVD release.

Oh Yeah! Cartoons (1998-2001): Oh Yeah! Cartoons has yet to see a complete series DVD release. However, amazon video is currently streaming some of the episodes. Unfortunately, the episodes are not in air date order.

Ren and Stimpy: As stated previously, the series still remains incomplete as of 2018. It's looking unlikely that we will ever see a complete set any time soon.

And that wraps up part one of this 5 part series. I'm sure most of you probably know a lot about these releases already but I still wanted to get the information out there to those who might not. If there is anything that I might have missed in these posts, please do leave a comment below. Also, I will do my best to get part two released in a timely manner.
